Data Definition
This link provides an accounting of the energy resources (hydropower, wind, nuclear, natural gas, coal, etc.) that Washington utilities use to supply electricity to their customers. The report provides electricity sales and carbon dioxide emissions by energy resource for each utility, and the entire state.
Data Frequency
Annual with 6 month reporting delay. 2013 update available May/June 2014.
Target Rationale
In 2007 the Washington State Legislature established a 2020 GHG emission target for Washington State to return to 1990 emission levels. For the electricity sector this implies an emission target of 16.9 MMT in 2020.
