Data Source
WSDA Food Safety Program's Food Database that includes information about Food Processing Facilities (e.g., risk category, inspections) as of 2/4/2014.
Data Definition
Percentage of high-risk food processing facilities passing their inspections (score of > or = 90 points/100) each quarter.
Data Frequency
Quarterly
Target Rationale
High-risk food processing facilities are firms producing ready-to-eat foods that could easily support growth of harmful bacteria. Increasing to 95% the number of these facilities in compliance with food processing standards may help reduce the burdens associated with foodborne illnesses within Washington State.
